After months of a complete stand-still because of the COVID 19 Pandemic, Bishop Patricio A. Buzon, SDB, D.D. restarts his pastoral visit to the parishes and chaplaincies.
His first stop was the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Chaplaincy in Eroreco Subdivision, Bacolod City last February 15, 2021. Rev. Fr. Samson P. Mariano, together with members of the Parish Pastoral Council and the Finance Committee and some members of the Church community welcomed the Bishop.
Bishop Buzon, in his opening message for the Pastoral Visit said, "Si Hesus ang matuod nga naga bisita sa inyo, ang matuod nga manugbantay. He [Jesus] is the good shepherd."
In his dialogue with the lay leaders of the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Chaplaincy, the Bishop asked for more lay workers and volunteers in the areas of catechesis and the family life ministry. This need surfaced as the Bishop saw the challenges and the extent of work that are involved in said ministries in a parish setting.
Overall, with the limited schedule, Bishop Buzon was surprised by the warm welcome of the community given the health protocol restrictions that are in place and are observed because of the pandemic.
The pastoral visit was more subdued compared to previous ones. It was limited to the ‘barest essential’ meetings because of the pandemic.
